21 km - Half marathon

21.1 kilometers, three countries, and a route full of changing perspectives: the 3-Country Run lets you experience the region step by step—from Basel’s city center through Saint-Louis and Huningue to Weil am Rhein.

Your half-marathon begins in front of Basel’s Town Hall. Crossing the Mittlere Brücke and the Lower Rhine Path, you reach the Dreirosenbrücke. The route continues via Voltaplatz and Elsässerstrasse toward the French border. With every kilometer, the city opens up, and soon you are running through Saint-Louis and on to Huningue.

A special moment awaits at the waterfront park: the Three Countries Bridge (Dreiländerbrücke). You run across the Rhine, leaving France behind and entering Germany. The river flows beneath you—while the next stage of your adventure lies ahead.

In Weil am Rhein, the route takes you through the former State Garden Show grounds and on into the Lange Erlen area. Here, the scenery shifts to lush greenery. Following the Wiese River, you find your rhythm for the return leg to Basel.

Back by the Rhine, anticipation for the finish line builds. The route leads across the Wettsteinbrücke and along Freie Strasse to the Marktplatz. Gather your strength one last time, savor the final meters—and cross the finish line with three countries in your legs.
