10 km through 3 countries

From the heart of Basel, through France to Germany and back: in this 10km run, every kilometer becomes part of a mini-journey. The Rhine accompanies you, the Three Countries Bridge connects the nations—and you experience the region at your own running pace.

Your run begins in Basel’s city center. The route takes you via Eisengasse and Blumenrain to St. Johanns-Rheinweg. With your first steps by the water and a view across the Rhine, you find your rhythm before the course leads you over the Dreirosenbrücke bridge towards Huningue.

One of the highlights awaits on the French side: the Three Countries Bridge. Suspended over the Rhine, you cross from France into Germany. Savor the moment—the view of the water, the open expanse, and the feeling of having reached a third country under your own steam.

In Weil am Rhein, the route takes you past the Rheincenter and across the Friedlingen border crossing back into Switzerland. Passing through the harbor area and along Uferstrasse, you reach the lower Rhine promenade (Unterer Rheinweg). Basel draws closer, and with every step, anticipation for the finish line builds.

Finally, you cross the Wettsteinbrücke bridge, head onto Freie Strasse, and continue to the Marktplatz. Here, your journey through three countries comes to an end—with ten kilometers in your legs and an experience that resonates long after you cross the finish line.
